Healthy Ingredients Make Healthy Children
Many children aren’t always so quick to eat their veggies, but our cooking staff knows to make the healthiest ingredients – such as kale, spinach, broccoli and more – palatable to the pickiest of eaters.

We tailor our menus to meet the dietary needs and restrictions of our children and always use the freshest ingredients available. Therefore, our menus change daily, ensuring children get nutrition and variety in their diet.
Breakfasts usually consist of a healthy balance of carbohydrates and protein to give children the energy they need to start the day. This might include a tasty bowl of gluten-free, maple sugar oatmeal with a glass of milk. For vegans, a milk substitute, such as almond milk, will be used.
Lunch is the biggest meal of the day at Oak Grove Academy and a time where our culinary experts really shine. Children need protein, vegetables, and healthy carbohydrates for lunch, and we do more than any other preschool or kindergarten in Alpharetta to ensure this is a meal that tastes as good as it is healthy.
A sample lunch dish might include a chicken, broccoli and rice casserole with a serving of blueberries and a beverage, such as milk or all-natural juice. Another example includes turkey and cheese sandwiches on whole wheat bread, baked potato rounds, cinnamon applesauce, and a beverage. As always, we offer vegan substitutes.
Before the school day is over, we give children a snack to ensure they don’t feel hungry before they go home. For example, these may include animal crackers, vegetable straws or pretzels with raisins. Just like the meals we provide, these snacks include natural, organic ingredients and are accompanied with a healthy beverage.
